Healthy Respect work closely with youth organisations and school nurse teams across Lothian with aim of increasing young people’s access to non-clinical sexual health services & information, in high schools and community youth settings.
Services include:
- free condoms,
- pregnancy testing
- STI testing in the form of Postal Testing Kits (PTKs) (where appropriate)
- signposting to young peoples sexual health clinics
- support of a trusted adult to talk to about sexual health and relationships.
These services can be offered in regular, advertised Healthy Respect drop-in, or by ad hoc, flexible 1-2-1 using Healthy Respect kit bag approach.
All organisations wanting to deliver Healthy Respect services will sign a service partnership agreement. This document outlines the process and expectations around becoming a Healthy Respect service partner. Organisations must be part of an established service working with young people, with appropriate policies and structures in place.

All partners are trained and have guidance to support them to create safe places where young people can speak with a trusted adult. Where appropriate, young people will be signposted to other services and encouraged to speak to trusted adults within their lives.
